Job Summary:
The Plant Director will oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operations at the Fort Chiswell facility. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and leadership to ensure efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement. The Plant Director will be responsible for driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve plant performance and achieve business objectives.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring the production schedule is met while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Lead and mentor the plant management team, promoting professional growth and development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and increase efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance, managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Engineering, and Human Resources.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in plant operations, production management, and strategic planning.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in managing change and driving organizational transformation.
