Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team in Rockford, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated systems and machinery to ensure optimal production efficiency and quality. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of automation technologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated equipment and machinery.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize automated processes.
- Program and configure PLCs and other automation control systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in automation technology or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an automation technician or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment.
- Familiarity with safety standards and protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
