Job Description

ProspectBlue is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys throughout the litigation process. This position will assist with legal research, case preparation, document management, court filings, scheduling, client communication, and coordination with outside service providers. The successful candidate should be organized, analytical, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research using statutes, regulations, court rules, judicial opinions, legal publications, and other authoritative sources.

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation and organization of pleadings, briefs, appeals, affidavits, and other legal materials.

  • Support attorneys and clients by facilitating communication and serving as a point of contact when appropriate.

  • Prepare, organize, maintain, and update case files and supporting documentation.

  • Manage electronic correspondence and legal records within the firm's document management and filing systems.

  • Prepare and submit legal documents in accordance with applicable state and federal court requirements.

  • Review filing requirements and ensure original documents are properly organized, indexed, and maintained.

  • Monitor litigation calendars and calculate important filing, hearing, discovery, and other case-related deadlines.

  • Coordinate with external providers, including court reporters, process servers, printing vendors, e-discovery providers, and other litigation-support professionals.

  • Assemble and maintain materials for hearings, depositions, trials, and other proceedings.

  • Use electronic Bates-numbering and document-stamping applications as needed.

  • Handle routine correspondence, telephone inquiries, and other general administrative tasks in support of the legal team.

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands.

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Comfortable collaborating with attorneys, coworkers, clients, and outside professionals.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong computer and keyboarding skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Outlook.

  • Dependable, professional, and committed to maintaining a strong work ethic.
