ProspectBlue has partnered with a company in Richmond, VA and is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support and oversee all human resources functions within the organization.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing compensation and benefits, maintaining accurate employee records, and helping develop and implement company policies. Must have experience with full-cycle recruiting and a strong understanding of employment laws.
This position plays a key role in promoting a positive work environment by ensuring HR processes are efficient and consistently applied.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and explain compensation and benefits packages to employees
- Coordinate training and development programs for staff and leadership
- Organize and manage quarterly and annual performance evaluations
- Educate employees on available benefits, such as 401(k) plans
- Maintain and update employee records, including new hire data and status changes
- Keep organizational charts, job descriptions, and salary information current
- Anticipate hiring needs and support an efficient recruitment process
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies across the organization
- Respond promptly to employee questions and concerns
- Ensure compliance with current labor laws and regulations
- Address employee relations issues, including conflict resolution
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations
- Familiarity with full-cycle recruitment processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Effective team management skills
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an HR Specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Comfortable using email and other workplace technologies
- Ability to pass a background check
