Job Description

ProspectBlue has partnered with a well-established and respected employment law firm in Richmond, Virginia and is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Paralegal.  This role is ideal for a professional who is highly organized, client-focused, and committed to supporting meaningful legal work that impacts individuals and workplaces.

You will work closely with a team of five attorneys, playing a key role in case management, client communication, and litigation support. The ideal candidate brings both technical proficiency and a strong sense of empathy when working with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client case files and track critical deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist attorneys with drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
  • Prepare electronic and physical binders, exhibits, and materials for hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Conduct intake calls with prospective clients, ensuring a professional and supportive experience
  • Communicate with clients throughout various stages of representation
  • Handle administrative paralegal duties, including:
    • Preparing and sending retainer agreements
    • Opening, maintaining, and closing client files
    • Filing documents and communicating with courts and administrative agencies
    • Scheduling and coordinating case-related activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of paralegal experience
  • Completion of an accredited graduate or post-graduate paralegal program
  • Strong computer skills and experience with legal practice management systems (PracticePanther experience is a plus)
  • Experience handling client intake calls and scheduling consultations
  • Proven ability to open, manage, and close client files efficiently
  • Proficiency in legal research and document proofreading
  • Litigation experience is preferred but not required
