ProspectBlue seeks a Fleet Supervisor for a client in Newburgh, NY!

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and compliance of our vehicle fleet. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of company vehicles while maintaining high standards in driver performance, regulatory compliance, and preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of DOT regulations, and a proactive mindset when it comes to safety, vehicle upkeep, and logistics coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations & Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of all fleet vehicles (trucks, trailers, service vehicles, etc.)

Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime

Coordinate with service providers and internal maintenance teams

Track vehicle performance, fuel usage, mileage, and diagnostics using fleet management software

Compliance & Safety
Ensure all vehicles meet federal, state, and local DOT regulations and company safety standards

Maintain accurate records for inspections, registrations, and permits

Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed

Manage compliance reporting for IFTA, ELDs, HOS, and CSA scores

Driver Coordination
Support driver hiring, onboarding, and training on fleet policies and procedures

Monitor driver logs, violations, and performance reports

Promote a safety-first culture and address safety issues promptly

Cost Control & Budgeting
Monitor and manage fleet operating expenses, fuel consumption, and vendor contracts

Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency

Assist in fleet procurement and vehicle replacement planning

Technology & Reporting
Utilize fleet management systems (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Fleetio, etc.) to monitor vehicle and driver data

Generate regular reports on fleet performance, utilization, and compliance

Maintain inventory of fleet assets and parts

Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in fleet or transportation management (trucking or logistics preferred)

Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations

Proficient in fleet management software and Microsoft Office

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
