Job Description
ProspectBlue is seeking a detail-oriented Estate Planning Drafting Paralegal to join a reputable law firm in Williamsburg, VA. This is a full-time, in-office role focused on preparing estate planning documents based on attorney guidance. The paralegal will also assist clients with non-legal inquiries, support trust funding processes, and draft related documentation under attorney supervision. Responsibilities include tracking important deadlines, serving as a point of contact between clients and attorneys, and managing assigned client files and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft estate planning documents, including Wills and Trusts, per attorney instructions
Handle general client questions on administrative or procedural matters
Support clients with trust funding and prepare transfer documents as needed
Monitor and maintain suspense dates and deadlines
Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys when appropriate
Keep client records and timelines organized and up-to-date
Qualifications:
Education:
Formal paralegal training with a focus on drafting estate planning documents such as Wills and Trusts; or
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years working as a paralegal in estate and trust drafting within a law firm setting
Skills & Competencies:
Strong typing ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and HotDocs
Experience with case management software (Tabs3/PracticeMaster preferred)
Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to manage workload independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative and team-oriented
