ProspectBlue is seeking a strategic, hands-on Human Resources Director to lead and evolve the HR function of a company in Richmond, VA. This role is ideal for a proactive, people-oriented leader with a strong background in financial services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about culture, skilled in compensation planning, and comfortable being a highly visible resource and partner across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Drive HR strategy in alignment with business objectives.
Partner with senior leadership to foster a high-performance, inclusive, and engaging company culture.
Serve as a key advisor on organizational design, change management, and talent planning.
Employee Relations & Culture:
Champion a positive, transparent, and values-driven workplace culture.
Act as a visible and approachable HR leader throughout the organization.
Develop programs to enhance employee engagement, retention, and well-being.
Compensation & Benefits:
Lead the design and implementation of competitive compensation and incentive programs.
Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to ensure equitable and compliant pay practices.
Partner with Finance and Leadership to ensure alignment between pay philosophy and business strategy.
HR Operations & Compliance:
Oversee and support a high-performing HR Generalist in day-to-day operations.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and industry regulations.
Implement and optimize HR systems, policies, and procedures.
Talent Management:
Lead performance management, learning & development, and succession planning efforts.
Support recruitment strategies for attracting top-tier financial services talent.
Guide onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a consistent and high-quality employee experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
Prior experience in the financial services industry is strongly preferred.
Proven experience building and managing compensation structures.
Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and best HR practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable being a highly visible leader within the organization.
Track record of building culture, coaching leaders, and leading through growth or change.
