Software Engineer (Java/SQL) –  Innovation-Focused Team

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join a forward-thinking and collaborative engineering team working on strategic initiatives in a complex, high-impact technical environment. This is a long-term contract role with potential for full-time conversion in the future.

About the Role
This opportunity arises from a shift in team capacity, with funding now available to bring in a key contributor. You’ll support a mix of strategic initiatives, application support, and continuous tech learning, working in a small, agile team that values experimentation and innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to new feature development and support of existing systems

• Work closely with cross-functional teams across the business

• Learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment

• Potential for future participation in an on-call rotation

• Engage with API development and Salesforce-based systems

Tech Stack
Must-Have:

• Java

• SQL

Strong Plus:

• AWS

Nice to Have:

• Salesforce

• API development experience

Location and Flexibility

• Hybrid preferred in Des Moines, Raleigh, or Charlotte, but remote work is possible for the right candidate

• Contract through end of 2025 with strong likelihood of extension or conversion (SE2/SE3 level based on experience)

• Expected Experience: 3–5 years in backend or full-stack development roles
