Job Description

Precision Resources is presently recruiting an experienced PHP Developer to design, build, and maintain the web applications and services for one of our clients. This person will be responsible for developing features end-to-end, contribute to architectural decisions, and partner with their Senior Web Developer on the systems that drive their business.

This is not an entry-level position. This person should be comfortable shipping production code with limited oversight, debugging across the full stack, and improving systems they didn’t originally write.

This is a MOSTLY WORK FROM HOME position with the ability to come to onsite company meetings. We are targeting candidates local to the Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding areas. Compensation is $75,000 to $90,000 with a full complement of benefits.

The Job

• Design, build, test, and maintain PHP/MySQL web applications and supporting services.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Provide expertise and direction in the modernization of applications for improved performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with the development team on improvements to existing sites and on new initiatives
• Continuously research, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into technical requirements.

What They Want

• 5–7 years of professional web development experience
• Strong command of the LAMP/LEMP stack
• Solid front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with database management in MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres
• Comfort with Git and modern source-control workflows
• Track record of owning features from spec through deployment and maintenance
• Clear written and verbal communication — you can explain a technical decision to a non-engineer
• Ability to accept a permanent position with US Citizen or Green Card. Applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered.
