Level 4 Commercial HVAC Service Technician

$32–$40/hour (Based on Experience)
Full-Time | Advanced Commercial HVAC Role

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Level 4 Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our service team in the Charlottesville area. This senior-level position is ideal for a technician with deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience servicing a wide range of HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including:

  • DX equipment up to 5 tons

  • Gas-fired and electric heating systems

  • Air handlers, duct systems, and temperature-control systems (24V, 1–10V)

• Start and inspect system operations; read gauges, calibrate, and make real-time system adjustments

• Diagnose equipment issues and replace/adjust defective parts as needed

• Report equipment concerns and unusual issues to the supervisor immediately

• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on piping and pumping systems

• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures on-site

Preferred Experience (Highly Valued):

• Hands-on ability to maintain and repair:

  • Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers with reciprocating, scroll, or screw compressors

  • Electronic controls on packaged chillers and HVAC systems

  • Chilled and hot-water piping and VFD-driven pump systems

  • Boilers, VAV systems, water-source heat pumps, and computer room units

  • DDC, pneumatic, and modular controls

• Experience working with systems up to 100 tons

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (Trade school preferred)

• 10+ years of HVAC experience, including 7+ years in commercial environments

• Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification (Required)

• HVAC Journeyman’s License (Required)

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards
