Perform high-quality service work related to commercial HVAC systems, including special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
Job Functions and Duties:
Service, maintain, and repair various HVAC systems: Direct expansion AC equipment, Gas-fired and electric heating systems, Low voltage temperature control systems, & Air handling equipment and duct systems for commercial HVAC.
Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as: Changing air filters, cleaning condenser/evaporator coils, fans, and ductwork, inspecting and adjusting fan shafts and belts, and installing wiring to connect components.
Start systems, monitor operation, read gauges, and adjust mechanisms (valves, controls, pumps) to ensure proper fluid levels, pressure, and temperature.
Troubleshoot, replace, or adjust defective parts to repair HVAC systems.
Communicate effectively via cell phone with CSUSA National Accounts Group and third-party service providers/control companies to coordinate service activities at client sites.
Obtain necessary purchase orders from Service Office for materials required to complete service calls.
Maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding job status, check-ins/outs, and next-day service calls.
Accurately record time spent on each service call.
Be available for on-call duty during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ensure company vehicle and tools are well-maintained at all times.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School or Trade School Graduate or GED equivalent
Universal Refrigerant Card holder
5-7 years of HVAC service experience
Possess appropriate state trade licenses and stay current with required continuing education for multiple states where service work is performed
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Ability to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively in English
Ability to lift bulky items weighing 75 pounds or more to the waist and 50 pounds overhead
Dexterity with both hands for handling tools and equipment
Capability to work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions (wet, below freezing, hot, dry)
Comfortable with tasks involving climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working at heights
Requires good corrected vision, and ability to perform physical activities like climbing balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting
Must maintain a good driving record
