Sr Design Checker

Position Overview:

Are you an expert in package and plant designs, ready to take on the challenge of ensuring flawless design integrity? As a Senior Design Checker at our modular manufacturing company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of our modular designs. Collaborating closely with our design and engineering teams, you'll review and analyze modular construction plans to ensure they meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specifications. Your expertise will drive efficiency and excellence in our modular construction processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of modular construction plans, including architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical components, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with building codes and standards.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to identify and address potential design flaws, inconsistencies, and errors early in the design process, working closely with design and engineering teams.
  • Stay updated on relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure all modular designs adhere to legal and safety requirements, providing guidance and recommendations throughout the design process.
  • Utilize your expertise in modular construction principles, materials, and techniques to evaluate designs for structural integrity, functionality, and manufacturability, offering insights and suggestions for optimization.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel, providing clear and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of design reviews, modifications, and approvals, generating reports summarizing findings and recommending corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge in package/plant designs and layouts, with broad expertise in structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems.
  • Familiarity with codes applicable to equipment including NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, structural, and controls systems design.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of relevant design experience in mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls systems for products.
  • Hands-on experience in design and drafting using 3D modeling software such as CAD, Solidworks, and Revit.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Catia, or Pro-E.
  • Experience in HVAC, piping design, or industrial plant design within the modular construction industry.
  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline or 3D/CAD design.
Education & Training:
  • High school diploma.
