What You Will Be Doing

Our client is a well-respected full-service mechanical contractor, operating in the commercial and industrial sector. They are seeking a highly detail-oriented Piping Superintendent for their North Carolina facility. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with a strong understanding of quality assurance in the industry to oversee the team of pipe welders, fitters, and helpers in the prefabrication of industrial piping systems including chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensed water. They will prioritize safety and ensure the team completes audits and all safety requirements. In addition, this includes manage project schedules and collaborate with sales to verify scopes and provide project estimates, regularly communicating with both the project manager and clients.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervision.
  • Familiarity with flowline manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of pipe fabrication methods.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Fluency in email, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.

Other Essential Functions

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Review submittals, installation, and operation manuals.
  • Flexibility to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull throughout the shift.
