Senior Operations Project Manager
Position Overview:
The Operations Project Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of top-tier products. Responsible for orchestrating Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, and Purchasing activities, this role ensures the availability and accuracy of essential information during the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities include shop-floor scheduling, work order management, production resource oversight, and driving operational process enhancements. Collaboration with external vendors and subcontractors is a crucial aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute Production/Project Plans to meet delivery schedules.

Review and validate drawings, specifications, BOMs, and work orders for manufacturing accuracy.

Contribute to labor forecast planning and manufacturing strategy development.

Maintain a balanced shop workload and monitor progress against schedules.

Collaborate with the project team, including Project Managers and Engineers.

Coordinate activities among various departments, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, and Production Planning.

Expedite in-house processes to meet schedule deliverables.

Requisition project materials as necessary.

Document and coordinate TAS rework occurrences, reporting root causes and impacts.

Facilitate revision control processes and participate in project team meetings.

Assist in developing and implementing department policies and procedures.

Provide direction to department members on behalf of the Director, Operations.

Work closely with other Operations Project Managers to manage project schedules and resolve bottlenecks.
Qualifications and Skills:

Familiarity with project performance metrics (EVA, CPI, SPI).

Self-starter with minimal supervision requirements.

Effective communication with superiors, peers, and external parties.

Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook; knowledge of Primavera/MS Project is a plus.
Education & Training:

Bachelors degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.

Military leadership or technical work experience may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree.

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is advantageous.
Minimum Requirements:
-
5-8 years of experience in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management.

Familiarity with Fabrication, Welding & Assembly processes.

Experience in developing and monitoring Labor Budgets, ETC/EAC for projects.

Proficiency in ERP systems.
-
Experience in building and working with bills of material in an MRP system.

High proficiency in Blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation.
-
Experience with Lean, ISO 9001, or other QMS processes.
