What You Will Be Doing

Our client is a leading mechanical contracting firm committed to excellence and innovation, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality mechanical solutions, we specialize in serving clients across various industries. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, providing detailed estimates, and contributing to the success of our projects.

The Ideal Candidate

• Conduct detailed analysis of project specifications and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for mechanical construction projects.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant information for estimating purposes.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
• Present and explain estimates to internal teams and clients, addressing inquiries and providing clarification as needed.
• Evaluate material costs and availability, considering alternative options to optimize project budgets.
• Analyze labor requirements, factoring in skill levels, project timelines, and union regulations if applicable.
• Source and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes for materials and services.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and develop strategies to mitigate these factors.
• Collaborate with project teams to assess and address project risks during the estimation process.

Other Essential Functions

• 3 to 5 years’ experience estimating HVAC systems in design-build and plan/spec settings.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards related to mechanical systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software.
