Superintendent - Gainesville, FL
We are seeking a dynamic Superintendent to oversee daily construction activities in the Jacksonville, FL or Gainesville, FL market for our well-established general contracting firm. The successful candidate will play a key role in scheduling workers, coordinating deliveries, managing equipment and material logistics, and ensuring the overall progress of projects. As a Superintendent, you will supervise skilled hourly-rated worker groups, maintain a focus on quality, timeliness, and safety, and conduct all business with the utmost professionalism to enhance customer satisfaction.
What You Will Be Doing

Schedule, coordinate, and supervise on-site activities to ensure smooth project flow.

Identify and resolve construction site challenges, prioritizing tasks effectively.

Organize, control, and motivate staff to foster teamwork and positive company morale.

Establish and enforce job discipline, reviewing and approving shop drawings in collaboration with the project manager.

Translate document drawings and specifications into on-site work.

Conduct site and building layout, coordinate inspections, and generate "Requests for Information" for project manager submission.

Operate a well-organized on-site project office, maintaining up-to-date contract documents and project filing systems.

Oversee the quality of construction, worker productivity, and safety standards.

Monitor job progress to ensure adherence to project schedules.

Maintain on-site equipment in proper working condition.

Complete paperwork in a timely manner, ensuring daily log entries are up-to-date.

Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback throughout the construction process.

Communicate immediately and accurately with the Project Manager.

Enforce Construction/OSHA safety standards on-site at all times.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and local building officials.

Coordinate all site deliveries and storage logistics.

Prepare and complete punch lists efficiently.

Take responsibility for maintaining company property.

Coordinate all parties involved in owner occupancy and ensure timely move-in schedules.

Self-perform trades if necessary, based on project requirements.

Travel as required per project assignments.

Physical Requirements
