Mechanical BIM Designer

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

What You Will Be Doing:

Our client is in search of a forward-thinking Revit Fabrication Designer to lead their fabrication drafting team and harness the capabilities of Revit Fabrication to drive our organization's progress. In this role, you will thrive in fostering close collaboration, effective communication, deadline mastery, and the development of innovative strategies. You will implement processes that optimize both time and space utilization, essential for the next generation of fabrication excellence. As the Revit Fabrication Designer, you will engage in regular interactions with engineering, fabrication shop, installation teams, and external MEP/GC partners, demanding the highest level of communication skills.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Lead Revit Fabrication, providing masterful drawings for the fabrication shop.
• Create intricate HVAC construction and fabrication models with precision and flair.
• Actively participate in crucial Fabrication project meetings, driving projects to success.
• Establish and continually refine Fabrication standards and procedures, setting the bar for excellence.
• Harness available resources to fuel the growth and productivity of the Fabrication department.
• Keep a finger on the pulse of the latest advancements in Fabrication technology, ensuring we stay on the cutting edge.

Other Essential Functions:

• Command proficiency in computer office software, ensuring seamless workflow.
• Demonstrate experience in AutoDesk Revit drafting, with an emphasis on the AEC field. For promising candidates, we offer comprehensive training to expand your capabilities and meet the demands of the job.
• Possess a deep understanding of best piping practices, ensuring the highest quality in every detail.
• Bring practical field experience to the table, particularly in mechanical room coordination with other MEPs.
• Showcase competence in deciphering complex piping schematics.
• Exhibit familiarity with equipment/component submittals, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
• Boast a minimum of 5 years in the piping field, with a track record of valuable experience in your arsenal.
