Job Title: Safety Technician

Our client is a leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor based in Indianapolis. They specialize in providing high-quality, innovative solutions for a wide range of construction projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Technician to join the team. The Safety Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving safety standards and procedures across various job sites. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of job sites to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and policies, including the creation of safety manuals, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on safety protocols, equipment operation, and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to address safety concerns and implement preventive measures.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, new regulations, and emerging trends related to workplace safety.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Technician or in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • OSHA 500 and 510 certifications are a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using safety-related software and tools.
  • Flexible and adaptable, capable of changing priorities on the fly to accommodate evolving needs.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
