As the head of Business Development and Marketing, one will be responsible for the strategy and execution of the organizations business development efforts. The ideal candidate is able to maintain relationships with established clients while creating new lasting relationships in support of the companys future growth.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Has 10+ years of proven experience in the Construction Industry
Able to readily embrace a thorough sales process and has account planning skills
Has strong executive selling and relationship experience
Has a proven track record in managing and growing account(s)
Has a business Challenger Mentality capable of delivering relevant insight
regarding industry knowledge and disruptions
BS or BA in Business, Const ruction Management, Engineering (Masters preferred)
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Business Development
Collaborate with Executive team and regional team leaders to identify revenue
and backlog gaps.
Provide qualified opportunities that align with needed revenue and backlog by
region and department. Publish weekly backlog report focused by region.
New customer development Identify and communicate new opportunities and
new customers that align with strategic plan to relevant VP and Regional
Manager.
Existing customer development Maintain positive relationships and expand
business across customer locations and projects.
Maintain customer data through Customer Relationship Management database
Assist operations with new initiatives or lines of business.
Explore and recommend general contractor partnerships in each region
Explore, recommend, and assist with new regional offices
Develop marketing plan and strategy and budget
Account Management
Structure plan with Operations managers for each key customer.
Achieve high growth and revenue targets from existing and new customers
Enhance relationships with customers in one region to grow business in other
regions
Enhance trade specific relationships with customers in one business across
organizational offerings
Effectively negotiates customer agreements
Develops important and effective relationships within the account(s) including Key
Executives, translates customer challenges and opportunities into unique business
value, ensures the team is constantly delivering Value to the Account(s)
Builds effective Account Business plan and executes upon the pl an, builds,
maintains, and grows opportunity pipeline specific for each region and each
trade.
Provides timely, accurate and detailed forecasts, effectively leverages chosen
sales processes, tools and methodologies, provides effective internal information a s
requested (i.e., Ops reviews, customer info ), constructs internal/external
presentations in an effective and professional manner
Follows up on bid submissions with customers. Focus on relationships and award success.
Leadership
Contribute as member of the organizations executive team
Develop, communicate, and execute sales strategy
Partner with internal operations teams. Attend weekly meetings.
Leads Go/No Go reviews
Communicate at all levels internally and externally
Continuous improvement through change management
Coordinates, influences and orchestrates all of the appropriate resources for
Account and/or Opportunity development
Able to collaborate and influence a virtual team (sales, technical, project
managers)
