Job Title: Fleet Operations Engineer (DevOps Focus)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid with potential travel)
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
We’re looking for a hands-on Fleet Operations Engineer with a DevOps mindset to support the configuration, deployment, and upkeep of systems installed on specialized vehicles. This role focuses on preparing trucks for demos, customer delivery, and operational use—particularly within air-gapped or closed-network environments where typical cloud deployment pipelines don’t apply.
What You’ll Do
- Configure, install, and prepare onboard systems for demonstrations and customer delivery.
- Standardize and streamline update processes for vehicles, reducing the time demand on other engineering teams.
- Build and maintain repeatable deployment workflows for closed or air-gapped networks.
- Support release activities and ensure vehicles can be updated consistently and efficiently.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand system behaviors and translate requirements into repeatable operational steps.
- Travel occasionally to customer sites to assist with on-vehicle configuration, updates, or troubleshooting.
Tools & Technologies
- Git or similar version control
- Docker
- Ansible
- VPN technologies
- Linux environments
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or C++ (no coding required, but helpful for understanding system behavior)
What You Bring
- Experience with DevOps practices, system configuration, or infrastructure automation.
- Comfortable working in restricted, offline, or air-gapped environments.
- Ability to grasp code concepts without needing to write production code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to bring structure to evolving processes.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
