Job Title: Enterprise Applications and Operations Manager
Location: Phoenix, AZ – Hybrid
Type: Contract to Hire
This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, with about 60% focused on guiding and developing the team and 40% spent on direct technical work. The position ensures that applications and infrastructure meet business needs, remain secure and reliable, and continue to evolve through innovation and process improvements.
Your role:
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members to drive performance and professional growth.
- Provide direction and oversight to support business operations and technology initiatives.
- Oversee application performance to ensure alignment with business needs and user requirements.
- Analyze and improve existing systems for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage projects from planning through completion.
- Research and recommend new software tools and services to support enterprise goals.
- Install, configure, test, deploy, and maintain applications and system software.
- Work alongside the team on daily technical and operational tasks.
- Conduct feasibility studies for potential software purchases and provide recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal IT groups, business units, and external partners to maintain a secure and high-performing environment.
- Evaluate documentation and specifications for new applications to ensure functionality meets requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage supplier relationships.
- Maintain software and systems inventories, including contracts and agreements.
- Create user training materials and deliver training sessions as needed.
- Monitor and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
- Address and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Follow established incident, problem, configuration, and change management processes.
What you’ve got:
- Experience leading the direction, implementation, and support of enterprise software solutions.
- Strong background in project management and project-based work environments.
- Hands-on experience with automated software management tools.
- Solid understanding of multi-tiered applications, software quality practices, and automated SDLC pipelines.
- Required: Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, CodeCommit, CodePipeline).
- Extensive experience administering and maintaining enterprise applications and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with environments including: IBM FileNet, Kofax, Jira/Confluence, GoAnywhere MFT, PKI, Microsoft Windows Server/AD/Group Policy, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and SolarWinds.
- Proficiency with scripting, especially PowerShell, for automating operational tasks.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and networking.
- Strong understanding of organizational objectives and the ability to align IT systems with business needs.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy standards.
