Job Title: Business Analyst (Level 2)
Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX (on-site as needed)
Type: Full-Time Contract
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst who turns business goals into clear, actionable work for delivery teams. You streamline how ideas become themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, support multiple tech initiatives, and help teams plan predictable, quality releases.
Your role:
- Facilitate sessions to translate objectives into themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned to established standards.
- Convert existing use cases and requirements into well formed Jira stories with clear definitions of ready and done.
- Analyze current processes, identify gaps and risks, and recommend improvements that increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Partner with product, project management, development, and QA to refine backlogs, plan scope, and estimate story points for predictable delivery.
- Support implementation activities across initiatives and surface issues early to keep work on track.
- Ensure requirements and test cases meet quality, accessibility, and compliance expectations.
- Document decisions, workflows, and changes, and keep stakeholders informed with concise updates.
- Work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CT, with occasional after hours support as requested.
What you’ve got:
- 3–5 years as a senior level Business Analyst in technical or emerging technology environments.
- 3–5 years applying Agile practices (Scrum or Kanban), including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands on experience writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria and tracing them to business outcomes.
- Proficiency with Jira or comparable tools to manage epics, stories, and reporting (preferred).
- 1–2 years documenting use cases and converting them into stories (preferred).
- 1–2 years creating process maps/flow diagrams to support analysis and delivery (preferred).
- Strong facilitation, analysis, and communication skills; comfortable working across technical and non technical teams.
