Title: Senior Project Manager – Enterprise Software Implementation
Location: Hybrid – Local to Arizona preferred; remote considered with monthly travel
A high-impact leadership opportunity supporting a complex and high-profile IT initiatives. This role leads a large-scale, multi-year implementation of a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tax platform—similar in scale to an ERP—where you’ll manage internal project teams, coordinate with external vendors, and bring structure to a dynamic, fast-moving environment. For this role we need someone with experience managing large enterprise software implementations including experience building teams, defining effective organization structures, and organizing work to complete a scope of work.
Your role:
- Oversee a multi-phase, enterprise-wide software rollout by managing internal teams, guiding project managers, and aligning stakeholders across departments
- Own the internal delivery roadmap and state-side execution of deliverables such as integration, data migration, security, DevSecOps, and infrastructure readiness
- Coordinate closely with a third-party vendor who owns the implementation; ensure technical responsibilities are met throughout each program wave
- Manage project risks, track progress in Azure DevOps, and develop documentation including schedules, charters, and RACI matrices
- Guide Agile adoption across teams and coach teams toward greater maturity in Agile practices beyond just facilitation
- Align with directors and executives to build buy-in, manage expectations, and reduce friction among cross-functional groups
- Support organizational change initiatives and help lead through ambiguity and resistance
- Drive technical dependencies and decision-making involving legacy system retirement, cloud migration, and compliance standards like NIST and FedRAMP
- Ensure contract deliverables from vendors are met and collaborate on issue resolution when needed
- Facilitate project lifecycle ceremonies, reviews, and post-mortems for continuous improvement
What you’ve got:
- 10+ years of experience managing IT projects, with 3+ years in Agile/Scrum initiatives
- Strong background delivering ERP or CRM implementations, including programs with multiple go-lives and iterative rollouts
- Experience leading large-scale public sector or regulated environment programs is a plus
- Skilled at working in messy, first-time scenarios and navigating uncertainty while still delivering outcomes
- Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent project tracking tools to manage work, dependencies, and team alignment
- Able to manage multiple project managers and align their work across a program vision
- Strong communicator who can influence senior leadership and unify disconnected teams
- Prior consulting background (especially Big 4) highly valued
- Scrum Master certification required (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
- SAFe or PMP certifications preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
