Job Title: IT Business Analyst (Mid-Senior Level)
Location: Onsite - Austin, TX
Duration: 2-4+ months (extension possibility)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled IT Business Analyst to join our client's dynamic team. With 5-8+ years of experience, the ideal candidate will be able to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring successful delivery of IT projects. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyzing business processes, and supporting the implementation of technology solutions that drive operational efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into clear, actionable technical specifications.

  • Partner with IT teams to ensure that the solutions being developed align with business goals and objectives.

  • Analyze and document current business processes, systems, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.

  • Conduct gap analysis to determine the difference between current system functionality and desired improvements.

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions and create detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Assist in the creation of project plans and schedules to ensure timely and successful delivery of IT initiatives.

  • Prepare and present reports, documentation, and presentations to both business and technical stakeholders.

  • Participate in system testing, ensuring that the developed solution meets the business requirements and is fully functional.

  • Provide post-implementation support, resolving issues and ensuring the continued success of the implemented solution.

  • Mentor junior business analysts and provide guidance on best practices and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5-8+ years of experience in IT business analysis.

  • Strong experience with business analysis methodologies, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and user story creation.

  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum project management methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively engage with both business and technical teams.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex business problems and develop innovative solutions.

  • Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management processes.

  • Familiarity with business analysis tools like JIRA, Confluence, and MS Visio.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) certification.

  • Industry-specific knowledge in areas such as healthcare, finance, or retail is a plus.

  • Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, or Tableau is an advantage.
