Title: Executive Director of IT Cybersecurity
Location: Ft. Lauderdale area, FL (Hybrid/Remote)
We are looking for an Executive Director of IT Cybersecurity to design and implement a security strategy that protects critical business operations while supporting long-term growth. You will lead a team of experts, working closely with senior leadership to integrate security measures into overall business objectives.
This role requires more than just safeguarding systems, it involves developing innovative proactive security programs that anticipate evolving threats. We’re looking for someone with expertise in the hospitality and gaming industries, who will create security strategies that go beyond risk mitigation and contribute to business success.
Your role:
- Lead and architect an innovative enterprise-wide cybersecurity program that safeguards digital infrastructure while aligning with long-term business goals and growth.
- Manage security operations by overseeing security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, MDR, and EDR to maintain continuous protection.
- Quickly address security incidents, analyze root causes, and apply lessons learned to strengthen defenses.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, CPRA, PCI, NIST, and CIS while balancing business needs.
- Establish and enforce policy by developing security frameworks, policies, and procedures that protect data and systems while enabling business teams to operate efficiently.
- Risk management efforts will include conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk mitigation strategies to stay ahead of threats.
- Team leadership and development by mentoring and managing a high-performing cybersecurity team, ensuring they have the resources and training to succeed.
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders to seamlessly integrate security into company operations.
- Manage resources and budget to strategically allocate funds and maximize cybersecurity investments.
- Lead security awareness initiatives to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and risk prevention.
What you’ve got:
- At least 10 years in IT security experience, including 5 years in a leadership role, with a track record of managing large-scale security programs.
- Hospitality industry experience with a preference for gaming experience, and an understanding of industry-specific security risks and regulations.
- CISSP, CISM, or similar credentials, along with expertise in NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Highly proficient with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, MDR, EDR, and IAM.
- Strategic leadership to identify emerging cybersecurity trends and translate technical challenges into business-focused solutions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and implement effective security measures.
- A passion for building and training security teams to stay ahead of evolving threats.
