Title: Application Architect
Location: Phoenix, AZ (In-Office)
Type: Contract to Hire


The Application Architect helps organizations achieve their objectives by maximizing the potential of their technology investments, particularly with Microsoft solutions. This role is focused on resolving challenges that impede critical processes, developing innovative solutions, and collaborating closely with teams to deliver user-friendly outcomes. Operating primarily as an independent contributor, this position works with the Principal Architect to create fast-paced, practical solutions for operational and clinical teams.


Your role:

  • Gather insights from users to identify technical requirements and business needs, aligning solutions with organizational goals.
  • Build strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders, fostering collaboration with development teams.
  • Design and demonstrate solutions through workshops, design sessions, and prototypes.
  • Ensure technical solutions align with the organization’s strategy and meet customer needs by coordinating with relevant teams.
  • Provide training and support to bridge skill gaps and enhance user capabilities.
  • Drive efficient delivery of solutions with a focus on improving user experiences.
  • Offer guidance and alternative perspectives to users while addressing challenges constructively.
  • Create user-centric architectures by applying design thinking and aligning policies, governance, and systems.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for technology growth and optimize adoption across teams.
  • Lead solution design, development, and implementation efforts to deliver impactful results.
  • Address potential risks and apply governance to maintain high standards in solution delivery.
  • Stay informed on industry trends to identify innovation opportunities and drive best practices.
  • Suggest improvements to applications, processes, and technologies for enhanced efficiency and reuse.
  • Communicate gaps and develop strategies to address them in collaboration with leadership and development teams.
  • Continuously expand technical expertise and align professional development with role objectives.
  • Mentor team members, providing technical and professional guidance.
  • Share knowledge and insights across teams, contributing to the broader organizational vision.
  • Participate in technical events and share learnings to support team growth.


What you’ve got:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting, low-code development, software development, or related fields.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as .Net or Python.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure Data Lake) and tools like Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Azure services and integration capabilities.
  • Expertise in deploying applications on cloud and on-premises environments using Azure Functions, API Management, and similar tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Proven ability to map business processes to Microsoft solutions.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies, using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • 3+ years of experience designing application architectures and driving business outcomes through collaboration with various business units and external partners.
  • Experience with scalable architectures leveraging Azure services and serverless technologies.
  • Knowledge of integrated development environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code).
  • Understanding of healthcare application integration technologies (e.g., EHR, FHIR) is a plus.
