Job Description
Title: Field Engineer
Location: Remote from within PST time zone
As a Field Engineer, you will address technical challenges and support software implementation in the field. This role involves customer-facing responsibilities, including technical support throughout the customer lifecycle—from pre-sales preparation to implementation and ongoing support. While based within the technology team, the Field Engineer will work closely with Sales and Professional Services to ensure smooth operations and customer success.
Your role:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain data integration pipelines.
- Collaborate with Sales and Professional Services teams to prepare and execute pre-sales demos and assist with customer onboarding.
- Contribute to data pipeline development and integration tasks to support product enhancements.
- Respond to alerts and manage tickets related to data integration and infrastructure services.
What you’ve got:
- Over 2 years of experience in developing or administering distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an engineering-related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Unix systems, with a preference for Ubuntu Linux.
- Proficient in SQL and ETL principles.
- Solid understanding of core internet protocols.
- Foundational knowledge of information security.
- Strong scripting skills in at least one language, such as bash, Python, or Perl (Python preferred).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Windows system administration.
- Software development experience in C, C#, or Python.
- Data science capabilities.
- Database administration expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of information security.
- Experience in retail science or familiarity with the retail industry.
