Job Description

Title: Lead Business Analyst
Location: Tempe, AZ (hybrid onsite)


As Lead Business Analyst, you'll be a key player on an Implementation Services team, responsible for driving the identification of requirements and development of solutions for our clients. Your duties will include leading detailed interview sessions, mapping processes thoroughly, and evaluating the impact of solutions on long-term projects. You'll work closely with test teams to improve traceability and understanding, ensuring our solutions integrate smoothly into client workflows.


Your role:

  • Work directly with external customers and lead them through requirements gathering.
  • Guide client resources using various methods to accurately define solution requirements.
  • Act as a solution expert, understanding the logic, rules, and processes used to meet requirements.
  • Create basic wireframes to visually represent requirements and process flows.
  • Model complex business processes clearly to inform the solution backlog.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer operations and provide ongoing consultative advice.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Product Management, and Development/Test teams to ensure alignment between requirements and solution features.
  • Be available to clarify and test requirements as needed, supporting the overall success of the project.
  • Protect the integrity of requirements, manage changes to the backlog, and ensure consistent updates.
  • Engage enthusiastically with clients, adapting to their culture and terminology.


What you’ve got:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on software projects, with a strong background in requirements analysis and solution design.
  • Experience functionally managing a team of Business Analysts
  • Experience working directly with external customers on requirements gathering.
  • Proficient in business process modeling and mapping, effectively communicating complex concepts.
  • Proficient in Agile and Scrum methodologies, understanding their principles and practices for effective collaboration and iterative development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to understand communication nuances and ensure clear, positive client interactions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Experience with business applications, including MS Visio and other common IT tools.


Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience facilitating client sessions, including large group discussions, ensuring productive and collaborative outcomes.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, able to write comprehensive user stories as needed for smooth project execution.
  • Experience working on public sector projects, understanding the unique requirements and regulations involved.
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, contributing to quality assurance processes and ensuring robust solution delivery.
