Job Description

Title: Sr. Project Manager
Location: Las Vegas, NV (hybrid remote)
Type: 12-18 month contract


We’re looking to place an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee multiple medium to large-scale projects, guiding cross-functional teams through all project phases, including design, build, testing, and go-live. You will ensure timely delivery of projects within established scope, schedule, and budget in a fast-paced casino gaming and IT environment.

Your role:

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project management plans in alignment with established PM methodology.
  • Oversee all project phases, from initiation through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Delegate tasks according to team members' skills and responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Create required project documentation and artifacts.
  • Adjust project schedules and objectives as necessary to meet evolving business needs or financial adjustments.

 

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration:

  • Act as the main liaison among internal departments (operations, compliance, IT) and external vendors to align project objectives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, keeping goals, updates, risks, and team actions in sync.
  • Lead project meetings, resolve conflicts, and build productive relationships with sponsors and project teams.

 

Risk, Issue, and Compliance Management:

  • Identify, assess, and address risks and issues to maintain compliance with gaming regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain logs for risks, issues, decisions, and actions (RIDA).
  • Collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts or issues that may impact project progression.

 

Systems Integration & Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the integration of IT systems with operations to ensure functionality, regulatory compliance, and security standards.
  • Lead system testing to ensure quality standards are met before deployment.
  • Coordinate system handovers and ensure end-user readiness through effective training and support.

 

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures against forecasts, and adjust as needed to meet financial goals.
  • Develop resource budget requests and oversee vendor contracts, staffing requirements, and team allocation.
  • Continuously monitor resources and perform quality reviews, escalating issues related to scope, budget, or timeline as necessary.

 

Reporting & Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and implement recovery plans as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver regular status reports to management and stakeholders covering scope, milestones, budget, risks, and critical issues.
  • Ensure successful project completion and stakeholder satisfaction.

 

Leadership & Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and motivate project teams to foster a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and pinpoint areas for future improvement.
  • Leverage past project experience to anticipate challenges and foster innovation.

 


What you’ve got:

  • Minimum of 5 years in project management, with at least 3 years in the casino gaming industry and 4 years managing IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of casino gaming systems and IT infrastructure, covering Slot management systems, Cage operations, Table game systems, payment processing, loyalty programs, and online gaming platforms.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale upgrades of casino and gaming systems (e.g., Slot management, Loyalty, Progressive systems) across an enterprise and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • PMP certification or equivalent industry recognized certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management tools like MS Project and familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Leadership, negotiation, and mediation expertise.
  • Budget management, risk mitigation, and team leadership skills.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective collaboration across organizational levels.
  • Ability to secure cooperation from management, clients, and departments.
  • Adaptability to evolving priorities and demands.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.

 


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with gaming regulatory compliance and Gaming Control Board regulations.
