Title: Financial Controller
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Preferred)
As Controller, you will be a key leader in the finance team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is not only smart and detail-oriented but also adaptable, ready to learn, and capable of managing a part-time bookkeeper. This role is pivotal as we continue to expand, with ample opportunities for growth and development. This is a rapidly growing company with operations spanning across many states, with plans to expand into 2 countries by the end of the year.
Your role:
- Manage and oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, and payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor a part-time bookkeeper, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and tax filings.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights to management for improved performance.
- Stay up to date with accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring company compliance.
What youve got:
- Experience in product development environment and delivery of SaaS solutions, and retail technology.
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of multi-state and international accounting principles and regulations.
- Experience in a fast-paced, growing company is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
