Job Description

Title: IT Project Manager
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Type: Contract

As an IT Project Manager, you will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and budgets, including allocating resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and consultants in order to deliver projects. You will define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the life cycle.

Your role:

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
  • Define project scopes, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes
  • Where required, negotiates with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
  • Determine and assess the need for additional staff or consultants
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans
  • Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises project team members and contractors and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

What you’ve got:

  • Required to have at least three years of project management experience in an information technology environment, including experience in cross-functional project management methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment
  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design
  • Understands internet, intranet, extranet and client/server architectures
  • Experience working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Must have reliable communication (i.e. cell phone, pager) readily available when not at work in case company needs to reach out during non-scheduled work hours
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in IT or equivalent educational experience preferred
  • Nevada Gaming card required
