Job Description

Our client is seeking a Lead Business Analyst with strong SQL and SAS skills and experience translating complex business problems into data-driven solutions. This role combines business analysis, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and process improvement, with an emphasis on leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to support business objectives.  Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or credit-related analytics is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements-gathering efforts by partnering with business stakeholders to define complex business problems, identify data needs, document requirements, and establish a shared understanding between process owners and solution development teams.
• Analyze non-IT business processes, document current and desired states, assess process performance, identify alternative solutions, and recommend improvements aligned with business objectives.
• Develop frameworks to evaluate financial payback, assess potential benefits, and support recommendations with quantitative analysis and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions involving data collection, transformation, analysis, reporting, and visualization across multiple data sources.
• Apply strong SQL and SAS skills to explore data, conduct analysis, identify trends and patterns, and generate actionable insights that inform business decisions.
• Support the use of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve analytical capabilities and business outcomes.
• Apply data visualization best practices to select appropriate tools and develop effective dashboards, reports, and analytical products. Consider prototyping, usability, end-user experience, and established enterprise branding standards.
• Partner with IT and data engineering teams to support scalable data pipelines, analytical infrastructure, and reliable, high-quality data for business intelligence and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate on technical standards, governance practices, process frameworks, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on responsible AI practices.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and SAS for data analysis and business intelligence.
• Experience gathering and documenting complex business requirements and translating business needs into analytical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes, assess performance, and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Experience working with multiple data structures and sources to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Ability to develop analytical frameworks, evaluate alternatives, and communicate data-driven recommendations.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data engineering partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analytical findings to business and technical audiences.
• Ability to manage complex assignments independently and influence decisions through structured analysis and recommendations.
