Job Description

Are you ready to move into a role where your HR expertise directly transforms lives?

We are looking for a Senior People & Culture Business Partner who believes that people-first workplace cultures are the heartbeat of a successful organisation.

This isn't a role about pushing paper; it’s about connecting people to purpose and empowering
people to create possibilities in the community. If you thrive on building authentic relationships and have a heart for the NFP sector, this is your invitation to take control of a career that truly matters.

Joining a tight-knit and passionate People & Culture team of three, you will occupy a newly created, pivotal space between the P&C Advisor and the Director of P&C.

Reporting to a Director known for being a collaborative mentor, you’ll find an environment that values your knowledge and encourages you to "quiet the noise" of administrative distractions to focus on high-level advisory work. You won’t just be another cog in the machine; you will be a grounded advocate for a person-centred philosophy, travelling across South West Sydney and the Inner West to meet their frontline heroes where they are - in day programs, community homes
 and community & youth programs.

Empowering Leaders & Navigating Change

In your first 12 months, your success won't just be measured by tasks completed, but also by the confidence you instil in people leaders. You will:

  • Strengthen Leadership Capability: Coach and guide managers through the complexities of the employee lifecycle, helping them navigate performance and conduct matters with empathy and procedural fairness.
  • Solve Complex Challenges: Utilise your deep expertise in the SCHADS Award to provide clarity around award interpretation, particularly in relation to workforce planning.
  • Champion Change: Lead teams through the inevitable "changing goalposts" of the disability and community services sector - whether that’s roster reviews, new system implementations, or funding shifts - ensuring no one is left behind.
  • Prioritise Wellbeing: Manage end-to-end injury and illness support to ensure our workforce feels cared for and empowered to return to the work they love.

To truly thrive here, you’ll bring a deep-seated understanding of the NDIS / Disability Services or Community Services sectors. You aren't just familiar with the SCHADS Award; you are an expert in its application, navigating its nuances with confidence. While not essential, if you also bring experience with Children’s Services or Health Professionals & Support Services Awards, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to put that specialised knowledge to work.

Flexibility, Growth, and Fulfilment

This role offers a competitive salary of $140,000 + annual leave loading + superannuation and a genuine hybrid work model, allowing for 3 days in the office (Austral, NSW) or on-site, with the remainder from home. You will also be able to access their Fitness Passport Program

Beyond the numbers, you are joining a community where your work directly affects people in need. You’ll have the freedom to try new things and the support to grow within a mission-driven organisation that values your technical experience and professional wisdom.
