Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure

Are you a detail-driven Project Engineer ready to make your mark on some of New Zealand’s most vital civil infrastructure projects? We’re looking for a talented Project Engineer to join a team delivering critical work across three waters, rail, structures, and land development.

This is more than just a technical role—you’ll be involved in every stage of project delivery, from planning and design through to execution, mentoring, and continuous improvement. Join a collaborative team that’s delivering real results across the North Island.

As a Project Engineer, you’ll lead the planning, scheduling, and delivery of complex civil projects. You’ll oversee site investigations, technical reviews, and compliance, working closely with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to keep projects running smoothly. Alongside managing budgets and reporting on progress, you’ll also mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 5+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer in New Zealand, Australia, or the UK
• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Project (or similar)
• Project Experience: Proven experience on large-scale, multidisciplinary civil infrastructure projects
• Commercial Acumen: Skilled in cost control, forecasting, and stakeholder engagement
• Leadership: Confident in mentoring others and working within a close-knit team
• Communication: Clear, professional communicator with excellent organisational skills
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of permits, compliance, and local standards
