Are you an ambitious engineer looking to contribute to cutting-edge infrastructure projects across New Zealand? We’re seeking a Project Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of sustainable infrastructure solutions based in North Auckland.
This role focuses on the planning, design, and execution of projects that support environmental sustainability, resource recovery, and operational efficiency. You’ll work with state-of-the-art technologies, including drone surveying and advanced laser systems, to develop critical infrastructure that enhances NZ's environmental impact, waste processing and diversion capabilities, and to drive improved circular economy initiatives.
About the Role:
- Infrastructure Development: Lead the design and construction of critical infrastructure projects such as transfer stations, infrastructure such as bridges, roads, land developments, landfill engineering projects, weighbridges, wheel washers, dust suppression systems, energy generation and methane gas management solutions.
- Project Management: Oversee end-to-end project delivery, including contractor management, procurement, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
- Innovation & R&D: Be part of exciting new research initiatives focused on methane gas capture and sustainable landfill practices, using cutting-edge laser technology to track emissions and improve environmental outcomes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and project partners to ensure projects align with environmental compliance and industry best practices.
- Financial Oversight: Assist in managing project budgets, cost tracking, and resource allocation to meet financial targets.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 3+ years in civil engineering, infrastructure development, or environmental engineering.
- Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, 12D, project management software, and a strong understanding of environmental compliance.
- Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Innovation-Driven Mindset: Enthusiasm for working with emerging technologies such as drones and laser-based methane detection systems.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional Saturdays during peak project periods and travel when required.
What’s on Offer:
This is not your typical project engineering role. It's focused on environmental and infrastructure development for critical services for all NZers. As such you'll be part of a large organisation in a varied role, which may require travel from time to time, with plenty of scope for personal and professional development.
- Competitive Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 DOE
- Career Growth: Opportunities to advance within a stable, future-focused organisation.
- Exciting Work Environment: A supportive team culture that values innovation and sustainability.
- Technology-Driven Operations: Be part of pioneering projects using the latest surveying and environmental monitoring tools.
