Position Overview

We are looking for a driven and experienced Commercial Construction Account Executive to join our growing team. This key role is responsible for building lasting client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and managing accounts from pre-construction through project closeout. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-value HVAC and mechanical solutions for commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, and engineers
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial construction projects
  • Lead the sales process from lead generation and qualification to proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Collaborate with estimating, design, and operations teams to align customer needs with company capabilities
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, bids, and proposals
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline updates
  • Stay informed on market conditions, trends, and competitor activity
  • Champion client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle using job loop strategies

Required Qualifications

  • Proven success in sales, account management, or business development within the commercial construction industry
  • Strong understanding of the mechanical and plumbing systems, construction processes, and project timelines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
  • Proficiency in consultative and solution-based sales techniques
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with persistence, grit, and a goal-oriented approach
  • Experience working collaboratively across departments to develop winning proposals and conceptual estimates

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical/plumbing sales OR
  • Minimum 5 years as a mechanical/plumbing Project Manager OR
  • Minimum 10 years of field experience as a Foreman or Superintendent (HVAC, Sheet Metal, or Plumbing)
  • Deep working knowledge of the mechanical and plumbing industry required
