Cost Manager – MEP Construction
Austin, TX
Seeking an experienced Cost Manager to lead cost control and forecasting for large-scale construction projects, with a focus on MEP disciplines. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting for all MEP scopes.
- Analyze subcontractor bids, change orders, and payment applications.
- Develop cost control systems and monitor key performance metrics.
- Conduct risk-based cost analysis and scenario modeling.
- Coordinate closely with scheduling teams to align cost and time impacts.
- Manage full lifecycle of change orders from evaluation to execution.
- Support procurement strategies and contract development for MEP packages.
- Provide cost impact analysis of design changes and advise leadership.
- Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and forecasts for executive review.
- Mentor and guide junior cost engineers and project controls staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
- 8+ years of experience in MEP cost management on large-scale builds.
- Deep technical understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and process utilities.
- Proficiency with cost tools (e.g., CostX, Prism, Excel, ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of contract types (Lump Sum, GMP, Cost-Plus).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with semiconductor, cleanroom, pharma, or data center projects.
- Familiarity with BIM-based cost planning and VDC integration.
- Professional certifications (MRICS, CCP, PMP) are a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Korean) preferred, but not required.
