Piping Superintendent – Commercial HVAC Piping Lead

Role Summary
We’re seeking a seasoned Piping Superintendent to oversee all phases of commercial HVAC piping installation. This hands‑on leader will manage field crews, ensure quality and safety, and collaborate with project management to keep large‑scale projects on schedule and on budget.

Key Responsibilities
Lead installation of commercial piping systems: carbon steel (weld & thread), copper, Victaulic (grooved), HDPE, ProPress® (press‑fit)
Supervise installation of major HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs)
Produce and review isometric piping sketches for shop fabrication and field layout
Coordinate all project phases: rough‑in, pressure testing, flushing, start‑up, and turnover
Enforce strict job‐site safety protocols and proper PPE use
Maintain clear, professional communication with crew, trades, operations, and project management
Manage multiple crews (foremen through apprentices), ensuring productivity and workmanship
Oversee paperwork flow: daily reports, weekly look‑ahead plans, quality inspections, submittals, and contract document reviews
Monitor project schedule, milestones, and labor forecasts; proactively address resource needs
Utilize contract documents, specifications, drawings, and in‑house shop drawings to coordinate work among trades
Mentor and develop field leadership, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of commercial HVAC piping experience
Demonstrated ability to run large, complex construction projects
Expertise in coordinating with multiple trades and office teams
Proficient in isometric piping drawing and review
Strong planner with proven forethought and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Deep understanding of contract documents, submittals, and project scheduling
