What You’ll Do:
- Negotiate and finalize subcontracts, service agreements, and change orders to align with project goals.
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors—responding to RFIs, claims, and official correspondence.
- Work cross-functionally with legal, procurement, project management, and cost control teams to ensure consistency in contract execution.
- Monitor compliance with contract terms, specs, and U.S. regulations (FAR, Davis-Bacon, CHIPS Act, etc.).
- Review progress payments and subcontractor deliverables; support closeout and settlement.
- Maintain organized records of negotiations, changes, and communications.
- Support claims, audits, and dispute resolution processes as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate
- 5+ years’ experience in contract or claims management within the construction industry
- Experience with multiple subcontract types (i.e. Lump Sum, Cost Plus Fee, and Time & Material subcontract types)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially under pressure
- Ability to quickly interpret dense, complex contracts (100+ pages)
- Highly organized with excellent prioritization skills
Preferred:
- Master’s in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering
- Subcontractor compliance with contract obligations, project specifications, safety standards, and relevant U.S. regulations (e.g., FAR, Davis-Bacon Act, CHIPS Act if applicable).
- PMP certification
- Project management or dispute resolution experience
- Familiarity with Primavera P6
