Job Description

Virtual Design & Construction Specialist

Who My Client Is?

Our client is a full-service MEP solutions provider offering mechanical construction, plumbing, building services, and engineered modular solutions. Their integrated, single-source approach minimizes project risk and delivers exceptional quality and safety across every engagement.

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off and holidays
  •  Access to industry training, software certifications, and internal advancement paths.
  • Hybrid work model—collaborate on-site 2–3 days/week and remotely as needed
  • Work with the latest BIM/VDC platforms and hardware in a Revit-centric environment (we are a Revit shop)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of 3D BIM/VDC models for complex MEP systems from design through fabrication and installation, exclusively in Revit.
  • Perform clash detection and coordination across all trades using Navisworks, BIM 360, and similar tools.
  • Generate detailed fabrication drawings and 3D assemblies that drive off-site prefabrication and reduce field rework.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, estimators, project managers and field teams to ensure model accuracy, schedule adherence and constructability.
  • Maintain BIM standards, templates and library content to support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide on-site support at project locations (as needed) to resolve coordination issues in real time.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on VDC/BIM experience in commercial construction or mechanical contracting.
  • Expertise in Revit—our primary modeling tool—and proficiency with Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD MEP and BIM collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Forge).
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, controls) and prefabrication methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate design intent into buildable models.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and model quality assurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Other Essential Functions:

  • Develop and deliver BIM/VDC training and best-practice guidance for project teams.
  • Track and report BIM/VDC metrics—clash counts, coordination hours and change-order impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with company BIM standards, CAD layer protocols and project documentation.

If you’re a BIM/VDC professional seeking to make an impactful contribution on high-visibility MEP projects apply today and help build a stronger future.
