What You Will Be Doing

• Develop ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) budgets and detailed estimates from limited design documents, narratives, or conceptual sketches

• Lead preconstruction and bid strategy efforts for HVAC and plumbing scopes

• Review drawings, specifications, and narratives for alignment and scope clarity

• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids

• Collaborate with project managers, executives, and owner reps to finalize pricing and proposals

• Assist with change orders and ongoing cost reviews throughout project lifecycle

• Maintain strong knowledge of local market conditions, labor rates, and material pricing

The Ideal Candidate

• 10–15 years of commercial mechanical/HVAC estimating experience

• Proficient in estimating software such as QuickPen, Bluebeam, or equivalent

• Strong understanding of hydronic piping systems, commercial plumbing, and HVAC systems

• Ability to interpret early design concepts and convert them into accurate budgets

• Experience managing estimates on projects up to $5 million

• Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to lead client-facing interactions

• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

• Knowledge of the New England subcontractor market is a plus

• Technical degree or HVAC certification preferred but not required
