Position Overview:
The Travel Sheetmetal Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations related to ductwork installation on construction projects. This role ensures safety, quality, and timely project completion while adhering to company and industry standards. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee ductwork installation, ensuring timely delivery to job sites and precise field installation.
- Direct and manage all on-site field personnel, adjusting team size based on project requirements.
- Supervise subcontractor activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to create, monitor, and adhere to project schedules.
- Participate in all mandatory job site meetings for project updates and changes.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of project plans.
- Enforce and promote strict adherence to company and job site safety procedures. Conduct and document weekly safety "toolbox" talks.
- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure compliance with Hazard Communication (Haz-com) regulations.
- Maintain effective communication between field personnel, the Project Manager, and stakeholders.
- Perform various personnel actions, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.
- Maintain and submit accurate as-built drawings and other documentation promptly.
- Inspect and submit reports on the condition of tools, equipment, and safety gear, such as ladders and harnesses.
- Ensure the job site maintains a high standard of appearance, professionalism, and organization.
- Maintain and ensure the company vehicle complies with manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
- 5 years as a Sheetmetal Superintendent on construction projects and at least 10 years of experience specifically with Sheetmetal (HVAC).
- Strong knowledge of Sheetmetal fabrication, installation processes, techniques, and industry standards.
- Proven proficiency in management, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project locations.
