Job Title: Accounts Payable Coordinator – Construction Experience

Location: Knoxville, TN

Our client, a well-established construction company in the Knoxville area, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Accounts Payable Assistant with experience in commercial construction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong foundation in accounting practices, specifically within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage up to 500 invoices weekly, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Match purchase orders to invoices to ensure proper billing and payment.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepare payments for approval and ensure all records are maintained accurately.
  • Support month-end closing activities by ensuring all payables are recorded.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems for accounts payable records.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports related to accounts payable and financial statements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience, with a focus on commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to process high volumes of invoices, up to 500 per week.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
  • Knowledge of construction-related accounting procedures (e.g., job costing) is a plus.
