Industrial Electrical Superintendent - Traveling

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrical Superintendent to lead and manage electrical operations for large-scale industrial projects. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, you will provide critical oversight, ensure on-time project completion, and coordinate resources to meet the demands of complex electrical installations. This role involves working with Foremen, administrative staff, contractors, and engineers to streamline project delivery while maintaining stringent cost control and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical teams on Industrial Projects in sectors such as Pulp & Paper, Chemical, and Heavy Industrial.
  • Oversee the development and execution of electrical construction plans, integrating engineering packages for fieldwork.
  • Directly interface with owners, engineers, and contractors to ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.
  • Manage construction costs and change orders to stay within budget and minimize financial risk.
  • Coordinate direct hire craft labor and contractor resources to maximize project efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA standards, while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Oversee material ordering, scheduling, and staffing to meet project demands.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites across the Southeast US.

Essential Skills:

  • Industrial Electrical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of electrical systems in industrial settings, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Construction Cost Management: Ability to manage project budgets, handle change orders, and ensure cost-effective project delivery.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Experience managing and mentoring Foremen, Journeymen, and staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Capable of reading electrical specifications, engineering drawings, and construction schedules to ensure proper project execution.
  • Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with OSHA standards, with OSHA 10 & 30 certifications preferred.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical engineering packages for constructability and accuracy.
  • Develop material take-offs, write requisitions, and manage purchasing processes.
  • Prepare subcontractor bid packages and manage labor on-site.
  • Maintain and update project scheduling, ensuring timely progress reporting and delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and provide strategic oversight.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Solid knowledge of industrial electrical practices, safety regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with clients and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively within a fast-paced team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Industrial Construction Management with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills.
