What You Will Be Doing

Our client, a prominent plumbing contractor in Matthews, NC, is seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join their team. If you are passionate about estimating and thrive in a dynamic environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Job Summary:

As a Project Estimator for commercial plumbing, you will prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial plumbing projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with at least 2 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating and pre-bidding processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates for commercial plumbing projects.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for plumbing estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of commercial plumbing projects are considered.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, plumbing materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Analyze historical data and market trends to provide accurate plumbing pricing.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and develop pre-bid strategies for commercial plumbing projects.
• Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with plumbing projects.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner.
• Maintain and update a database of unit costs and productivity rates for commercial plumbing projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Assist in the negotiation of contracts and change orders.
• Provide support during the project execution phase as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating.
• Proven experience in the pre-bidding process for commercial plumbing projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
