Job Description

The Opportunity

This organization is a long-established North American manufacturer and distributor operating at the intersection of fabrication, importation, and foodservice equipment supply. With decades of operating history, a strong reputation for quality, and a growing portfolio of customers across hospitality and commercial environments, the business is entering a new phase of operational maturity and growth.

To support this evolution, the company is seeking a Financial Controller to bring structure, visibility, and financial discipline to a complex, product-driven operation.

The Role

Reporting directly to the President, the Financial Controller will serve as a trusted business partner responsible for overseeing all financial, accounting, and operational reporting functions.

This role blends hands-on financial leadership with strategic insight, supporting cost control, inventory management, cash flow planning, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The Controller will also provide oversight across select areas of HR (compensation analysis) and facilities, helping ensure financial alignment as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities

  • Own the full month-end close and deliver clear, actionable financial insights

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and inventory accounting in a product-based environment

  • Strengthen internal controls, processes, and financial discipline in a lean organization

  • Build dashboards and KPIs covering margins, inventory health, and operational performance

  • Support systems optimization and automation, including ERP and reporting tools

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the President and leadership team

The Ideal Candidate

  • CPA (or equivalent) with 5–10 years of progressive experience

  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, or hard-goods environments

  • Strong understanding of inventory, landed costs, and operational finance

  • Comfortable operating hands-on while contributing to long-term planning

  • Analytical, pragmatic, and confident partnering with non-financial leaders

  • Curious, adaptable, and open to leveraging technology and automation

Why This Role

This is a high-impact opportunity to step into a visible, trusted leadership role within a growing, entrepreneurial organization. The Financial Controller will play a central role in shaping financial operations, enabling smarter decision-making, and supporting the next stage of sustainable growth.
