Job Description

Seeking candidates for a Manager of Unified Communications role. This person will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the organization’s enterprise communication and collaboration ecosystem. This onsite role manages a technical team responsible for the engineering, administration, and lifecycle management of Cisco telephony and Microsoft 365 services, including Teams voice and conferencing.

 

The ideal candidate blends deep technical expertise with strong vendor and stakeholder management skills to ensure secure, high-performing communication services across the enterprise.



Responsibilities/skills:

  • Platform Ownership: Lead the architecture, configuration, and full lifecycle management of Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, Unity, Webex) and Microsoft 365 collaboration services (Teams, Exchange, SharePoint).
  • Infrastructure & Connectivity: Oversee PSTN connectivity, SIP trunking, and SBC configurations while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and quality standards for all voice and video services.
  • Systems Integration: Design and maintain seamless integration models between Cisco and Microsoft ecosystems, including hybrid coexistence and cross-platform device interoperability.
  • Security & Compliance: Partner with security teams to manage identity integration via Entra ID and implement data retention, eDiscovery, and regulatory compliance policies across all platforms.
  • Team Leadership: Direct a technical team of engineers and administrators by setting priorities, defining operational processes (incident response/on-call), and fostering professional development.
  • Vendor & Strategic Management: Act as the primary liaison for key technology partners and carriers to manage contracts, licensing renewals, and cost-optimization initiatives.
  • Service Excellence: Establish KPIs for uptime and adoption while driving automation and modernization efforts to enhance overall platform reliability and user experience.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Seven or more years of experience supporting enterprise collaboration, messaging, or unified communications platforms
  • Three or more years of experience administering Microsoft 365 in a large scale environment
  • Two or more years of experience leading engineers, administrators, or technical initiatives
