We are expanding our development services to support build-to-suit commercial construction projects on owned parcels. Projects typically range from 25,000–50,000 square feet and require close collaboration with internal design teams and external architecture and engineering partners.
This role is well suited for a construction professional with a strong civil and commercial construction background who can lead projects from early planning through closeout, confidently direct A/E partners, and manage cost, schedule, and risk with urgency and precision.
The position is hybrid, based near Grand Rapids, MI, with periodic onsite collaboration and travel to project location
Serve as a key resource to internal design teams and external architecture and engineering firms throughout design development and construction
Lead commercial construction projects from early planning through final closeout
Develop detailed construction estimates, budgets, and cost projections
Administer construction purchase orders and manage procurement processes
Oversee pre-construction, construction, and post-construction activities
Manage project reporting, including risk strategy, bid results, job costs, schedule progress, and closeout documentation
Coordinate closely with business partners to support successful field execution
Ensure regulatory compliance, including stormwater pollution prevention, safety requirements, and permitting
Maintain strict control of schedules and budgets while proactively identifying and mitigating project risk
Manage project closeout, including final reporting, warranty administration, and document retention compliance
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field (preferred)
3–5 years of proven success in construction project management
Strong civil construction experience (required), with the ability to guide and influence design with architecture and engineering partners
Experience initiating projects from the ground up, including early planning and design coordination
Background in commercial construction; experience across civil development, greenfield sites, or turnkey projects is highly valued
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead discussions, drive decisions, and act with urgency
Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and project risk with close attention to detail
Familiarity with commercial construction practices and project management/accounting systems
