As a Team Lead in our Machine Shop and Tube Mills department, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing daily production operations. You will help drive our high-performance culture by ensuring quality products, timely delivery, and team development. This role involves monitoring production schedules, training and mentoring team members, enforcing standard work practices, and resolving production line issues.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, excellent communication, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Monitor Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) data and address performance gaps.
Develop, implement, and sustain standard work in alignment with the Masco Operating System (MOS).
Evaluate employee performance against standard work and KPIs.
Identify training needs and collaborate with supervisors on improvement plans.
Coach and train team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
Communicate and enforce quality standards and performance goals.
Audit standard work adherence and escalate quality concerns when necessary.
Promote and reinforce safety policies and best practices.
Conduct safety audits, report incidents, and correct unsafe conditions.
Participate in the BrassCraft Thomasville Safety Committee.
Streamline material movement through the production process.
Ensure accurate production reporting and adherence to materials procedures.
Track process metrics to ensure control and stability.
Facilitate employee improvement ideas and implement process enhancements.
Monitor scrap rates and first pass yield to minimize waste.
Lead daily team huddles and assign tasks based on skills and schedule.
Recognize individual and team achievements.
Assist with onboarding and skill development of new employees.
Ability to identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding of production scheduling, run-rates, and changeovers.
Proven ability to lead and influence others in process improvement.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office Suite).
Functional ability to perform all production jobs in the assigned area.
Ability to provide clear coaching, feedback, and team support.
Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed.
